1. Together we agree performance coaching objectives

It is critical to the success of the process that senior managers understand how an effective coaching programme works and the benefits that can be derived.

We will work closely with your senior management team to agree a set of relevant objectives for the coaching programme so they can be sure that it matches their business goals and aspirations.

We are keen that the the impact of the programme delivers long term benefits to your organisation and isn’t seen as just a quick fix. We will continue to work with your senior managers to help ensure this happens.

2. Develop performance coaching skills

By a combination of activities including a group overview followed up by individual sessions with each of your front line managers; we will develop the skills needed to become fully proficient in staff coaching.

Where needed, we will run training courses on the basics of coaching and staff development for the whole front line management team. This will provide a full understanding of the process and a basis for the more individual mentoring activities.

3. Performance coaching becomes second nature

Having ensured that the basic skills are in place, we now focus on embedding those new skills into your organisation. We will plan individual mentoring programmes based upon each person’s current skills set and capabilities, and agree them with senior management and the individual concerned.

Subsequently the sessions with your front line managers will include one-to-one mentoring as well as detailed observations and assessments of the various aspects of their role. For example, this could include attending team meetings, or return to work interviews. We will then provide feedback to the manager afterwards.
